Shamanic practices, both ancient and modern, have existed in many
cultures throughout the world but this piece looks to the north using the natural materials that would have been acquired in forests or by trade. There was great reverence for the animal spirits that guided shamanic journeying and healing. The antler tip is touched by two hand made antler beads from Siberia, matte labradorite, the Mystic’s stone of
transformation, and pyrite, the stone of persistence, confidence, willpower and action over fear. Matte agate and horn beads are matched with vintage mixed metals from Afghani nomads. Suspended from hand braided deerskin with hand sewn vintage leather details.
