When you are searching for something, you know it when see it… black slate, I can not say for sure if this is slate… I saw an ancient spear tip, chiseled away from something to become its own. Wrapped and joined with old metal and clay beads, an artisan-made sterling silver bead (with patina), and a single snake vertebra. The shape is repeated above with hand cut and sewn vintage black leather filled with ground Egyptian musk incense, a horn bead connects the two pieces.
The spear an ancient symbol of strength, protection and grounding. When the light is right, the sea is a mirror… the sky in the ocean, The Mystic’s Compass… stone and leather, each pointing to a center, the liminal space of possibility.
