From a stash of excavated Roman or Viking fragments with heavy patina and encrustment, some reveal themselves as bronze or silver, some remain hidden. A simple Lunula - Little Moon - associated with fertility and worn by Roman, Slavic and Viking women… thin cut metal, darkened patina and a bent wire loop… it was made to be worn, not fancy but meaningful to someone. A segment of old Middle Eastern hand made chain holds the Little Moon and other magic… an excavated spear shaped clay charm, our etched metal “coin” with ancient symbol, metal fittings and faceted moss agate beads (the subtle green of patina). Hand wrought links and brown cord attach the chain and charms to an excavated buckle shaped metal piece, encrusted but a small amount of beaded detail revealed.
