Door Guardian in the Moonlight - A box filled with driftwood, gathered from her walks on a secret stretch of Hawaiian beach… driftwood holds the secrets of land and sea, worn smooth but many furies… These are not ringing bells or wind chimes. Five hand made bisqued potter’s clay bell-shaped forms, marked with symbols from the ancient manuscripts that I collect, did not go back to the kiln for glaze, without glaze they are touched with silver and bronze studio finishes, the silvery underside echoes the stones of the Goddess… frosty white seed beads, antique padre beads collected vintage metals, faceted pyrite, faceted moonstones and a dark champagne baroque pearl.

Cool silvery moon, touches of bronzed gray, silvered bell interiors, with dark bronze seed beads, antique Italian seed beads, antique opaque white European “padre” trade beads, metals, pyrite, faceted moonstone slices and baroque pearl.

Suspended with a simple hand woven cord and attached to a piece driftwood.

Pleasant sound.
