Hand made, pit fired Raku textured vessel made in the ancient Japanese technique, chocolate brown with deep wine undertone, at midpoint an iridescent copper dark wine color appears. A vessel for ceremonial wild turkey feathers of russet, dark brown and black. They are bound in tobacco suede with hand dyed raw silk, and detailed with a circle of vintage metal beads. Spirit beads drape the neck of the vessel… a Buddhist medallion joined with small antique clay, mixed metals and glass beads between collected wooden beads… salwag palm wood, old Mediterranean olive pits and hand made beads of narrow branch segments. Hold in your hand in contemplation, prayer, meditation … Each piece is the echo of the harmony with nature.
