Standing quietly but ever present, we do not leave them behind… she has come from the Raku fire broken at the neck and is repaired but wears the scar… the fire is fierce and this often happens to pieces… there is disappointment but these moments are great teachers… we can dismiss the beauty in front of us in search of what we perceive as perfection - or we can understand the Japanese wabi-sabi mind… the perfection within imperfection… a reflection of our lives. Her color, moss greens, earth brown with hints of iridescence. Simple turkey feathers of sienna and browns, their natural and magical iridescent copper ends with slight green flash, wrapped with brown deerskin, mounted to a piece of reclaimed wood, gently worked to keep all of the natural characteristics.
