The deer appears in ancient myths and legends… messenger, shaman, savior, companion of royalty, woodland deities and goddesses… symbols of spirituality…

A naturally shed antler tip has been joined with Christina’s a hand painted and etched brass plate and etched candle fitting. The design of exuberantly leaping deer and elaborate antlers from ancient rock art has been reimagined with the addition of the sun and ancient decorative textile fragments. Mounted to reclaimed walnut, the overall tone is silvery or muted gold, depending on the light… shown in the photos.

Standing alone it is a small piece of sculpture, both ancient and modern. In our candle grouping with a Tibetan bowl and hand made ceramic candlestick, it easily holds its place.

Each piece is completely hand worked and one of a kind.
