Black Coral and Garnet Asymmetrical Long Necklace

$195.00

Branch of Creativity

Black coral was once worn, carried or ingested as an elixir to protect against negative forces. It came to be associated with tranquility, the meditative state and place of creativity. Unlike red coral that grows in colonies, black coral grows in a branching, tree like form and these branches are used for jewelry and other objects.

A small segment of black coral is artfully joined with a rough cut African Garnet, deepest wine red with flashes of the color spectrum… gold, green, blue and violet…magical. The asymmetrical design echoes the natural shapes of black coral and garnet as they have come to us from nature before being altered by man…Rare chocolate brown antique French seed beads hold the space between unusually golden colored ancient excavated Djenne Nila beads from Mali that are about 600 years old, faceted black tourmaline, black onyx, burnished ceramic, antique glass and vintage mixed metals.

Touch the nila beads with olive oil or your perfume oil on your fingertips to enrich their color and hold your fragrance…

From the back of neck to end of coral almost 15”
