Softly bowed in prayer…  angel adorned with a simple hand made garland of antique silvery micro beads, her garment a collage of antique European silver threaded vestment textiles, overpainted with our own palette of softly faded blued, her wings formed with the canvas, textiles and stitchery of our angelic pieces that have occupied our studio for the last year… in creating wings, energy is pulled outside of the dimensions of the paper, canvas, clay or the wood where you began… this overall design has escaped the boundaries of the mounting wood, bringing texture and color with it, the dangle a string of frosty white seed beads, tiny old rhinestone ring, double metal leaf cap atop a hand painted wood bead and large rust colored cross with raised details, mounted to softly worked reclaimed wood, the natural markings and texture remain, feeling more of a long lost relic from a family’s personal chapel, the reverse gild washed, hand painted raw silk tie repeat the palette.
