The Good Mess - Building Fragmented Cities
July 17, 2026I start with my collection of reference materials… beautiful architectural images of Venetian streets, and windows, and doors and alleyways.I begin to draw with graphite, I add water color and charcoal, I smudge it out, wash it out, add more. Then the torn paper part begins… I have papers that I painted and stained, I tear them into shapes that feel like they would fit in some good way. And I just keep going. It’s a very intuitive process and I get lost in it.
