These are very old demi tasse cups and saucers from Europe with a bit of softening wear to the gold in some spots.
Traditionally used for serving expresso or Turkish coffee in some parts of the world, our contemporary coffee experience is more of a very large paper container, sipped while we are in motion.
While we work in our studio we burn incense and in the evening, beeswax candles from a Greek monastery that fill the room with the heavenly scent of honey. Our crystals, stones and ancient beads are always near, kept in wooden boxes or Alex's beautiful hand made raku bowls. We like to use things in unexpected ways and these little cups perfectly hold our crystals, the beeswax tea lights casting an ancient burnished glow that is extremely calming and gives us what we seek the most...serenity at day's end.
On a shelf, table or bedside to hold your crystals, a bud, a feather, a seashell, sea glass, part of a candle grouping, bedside, stashed around your home with potpourri, for your pleasure or, for an imaginative hostess gift.
Of course, they are for expresso or Turkish coffee too! Holds 2 ozs.
Even with magnification, we are unable to read the bottom or know their origin but there is a small cartouche - like emblem.
