A French petticoat on display at the Metropolitan Museum is edged with this palette, an underskirt that might not have been seen but the wearer would know its beauty. Dark ivory rooster feathers are centered with a  bronze brown peacock, its eye a golden brown and dusty plum. The feathers are bound to an antler tip with vintage velvet, hand painted linen and silk. The antler is collared with a circlet of vesuvianite, Indian agate, antique rosary seed beads and mixed metals. The dangle of hand braided raw linen holds an amethyst, antique French steel seed beads, an Indian agate and mixed metals.  Vesuvianite takes its name from the place of discovery, Mount Vesuvius in Italy. Highly energetic, it helps to align mind, body, spirt, to be in this  balance is grounding and leads to a sense of wholeness. Agate was used by neolithic artisans for objects, amulets, jewelry and beads. Stone of lower intensity, it is grounding, calming and soothing.
