Antique Metal Durga Plaque Incense Burner

From Nepal. Durga, Hindu Warrior Goddess, has been depicted riding a lion or tiger, her mythos that of the fierce protective mother, combating evil and all that threatens peace and good. Multi armed, the world shook and the seas trembled as her weapons battled against ignorance, falsehood and oppression. The plaque is backed with a smoothed piece of wood and mounted to a platform of wood with a live edge, salvaged from hurricane fallen branches of our oldest tree. Metal inserts hold stick or bamboo stick incense. There are 3 etched metal feet for stability.                                                   “Faith in the Hearts of the Good.” Devi Mahatma - Glory of the Goddess. Stands 3 3/4” tall from table to top of plaque point, Wood 8 3/4” long X 2 1/2” wide at center X 1 1/4” tall. Metal plaque is 1 1/2" wide X 2" tall.
