Court of Blue

Blues of skies and oceans, the color of distant memories… In the ancient world, the only natural source of blue was the rare and costly lapis lazuli, mined in what is present day Afghanistan. An ancient oval lapis lazuli bead, called lazhuward - blue by the Persians… has been smoothed by wear and journeys through time… serenely joined with stones that hold the Court of Blue.

The large lapis bead, antique brass fitting and faceted dumortieriite lead the procession of blues…antique French seed beads carry antique Afghani turquoise, iolite, ink blue sapphires, polished and unpolished lapis, blue kyanite, collected seed beads and vintage mixed metals, held with hand wrought antique brass links and lobster clasp.
